Berwick to run for governor in MA

Don Berwick, a former Obama administration health official, announced Monday that he is running for governor of Massachusetts. Berwick, a Democrat, is a physician and health policy expert who ran the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) as a recess appointee, but Republicans refused to confirm him for the position. Prior to his CMS appointment, Berwick, a pediatrician by training, led the Massachusetts-based Institute for Healthcare Improvement.
