Check medical staff policy for diagnostic radiologists' requirements
A diagnostic radiologist uses x-rays, radionuclides, ultrasound, and electromagnetic radiation to diagnose and treat disease. According to the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) and the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), training to become a diagnostic radiologist takes a total of five years. That includes one year of clinical work followed by four years of radiology training.
