Compact licensure won't replace state processes

Nine states had passed the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) Interstate Medical Licensure Compact legislation when CRCJ spoke with Humayun Chaudhry, DO, MACP, president and CEO of the FSMB. The Compact won't mean the end of current licensing processes for the majority of physicians, who only practice in one state. Rather, it will apply to initial licensure for physicians interested in practicing in multiple states. MSPs won't need to revamp their processes, either, Chaudhry says.
