Don’t let your leave of absence policy get left behind

Do you have a leave of absence (LOA) policy? Does it look the same for all LOA requests? 

Physicians and medical staff members can take an LOA for a variety of reasons ranging from maternity leave to drug or alcohol issues. Regardless of the medical staff member’s reason for requesting an LOA, your medical staff services department must have a comprehensive policy in place to grant an LOA and, more importantly, appropriately reappoint doctors returning from an LOA.
