Editor’s Note

Dear readers,

I recently read this article about the difficulty physicians trained overseas have getting medical licenses in the U.S. The article discusses the multi-year process a foreign physician must go through to receive a license to practice here, which some say discourages them from trying.

With all of the talk of the projected physician shortage, it seems like a no-brainer to allow physicians who want to practice here to do so. How can we make the process easier while ensuring that these physicians are properly trained? Let me know what you think.

Also, in observance of Thanksgiving, Medical Staff Leader Insider won’t be published next Thursday. The next edition will arrive in your inbox on December 4. Thanks for reading!
