EmCare to pay $170 million for Phoenix Physicians

Physician outsourcing firm EmCare, a subsidiary of Envision Healthcare, recently announced plans to purchase Phoenix Physicians, a provider of emergency department physician services, for $170 million.
 
The acquisition of Phoenix Physicians will add an estimated $125 million in revenue and 800,000 patient encounters annually to EmCare. Phoenix Physicians employs more than 500 physicians and clinicians to 21 acute-care hospitals in Arkansas, Florida, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, and Virginia.

The deal is expected to close within the next week.
