Foster a strong team culture in your practice

A medical practice’s success can hinge on the culture of its team. The culture—the set of underlying rules and beliefs—of successful practices encourage members to interact with each other and patients. The AMA’s STEPS Forward website, which provides free online modules to help physicians revitalize their practices, provided an in-depth strategy to strengthen a practice’s team culture. The module suggests that practices:

•    As a group, create a staff compact
•    Create opportunities for team communication throughout the day
•    Meet regularly
