FSMB to verify licenses of LA providers

The Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners has granted the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) "display agent" status to verify licenses for Louisiana physicians and residents, indicating FSMB meets JCAHO's standards for primary source verification of licensure. FSMB, in conjunction with Administrators in Medicine (AIM), have set up processes to assist organizations in verifying licensure status of Louisiana physicians volunteering in stricken parts of Louisiana as well as displaced Louisiana physicians who need license verification to practice in other states.
