Full steam ahead for the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact

It has been a little over a year since the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) officially launched its expedited licensure process in April 2017. The compact, which was initially developed by the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB), began to explore the idea of using an interstate compact for physician licensing in April 2013. The objectives of the compact were to make the licensure process more efficient for physicians who practice in multiple states, while also maintaining the integrity and standards of the individual state licensing boards.
