Health Equity Index examines big picture of healthcare

There is an infinite amount of data about healthcare access and equality out there-studies, focus groups, white papers, and more. But is anyone correlating that data to see how it all intersects? In ­Connecticut, one organization is doing just that. Medical staff leaders harness a wide range of data to measure and improve care. They have a new analytical tool to help them: the Connecticut Association for Directors of Health (CADH) has created a community-based electronic tool-the first of its kind in the United States-­measuring the social determinants that affect health and their correlations with specific health outcomes.
