David Scott, D- Ga., are attempting to pass the The Healthcare Truth and Transparency Act, which would require anyone advertising healthcare services to state in the advertisement the license that authorizes them to provide those services, according to Amednews.com, the news website for the American Medical Association. Supporters of the bill wish to reduce patient confusion and medical fraud committed by individuals who misrepresent themselves as physicians.
