Hospital services prices spike

After months that saw small increases and even decreases, the Consumer Price Index for hospital services rose 2% in October, which was the highest month-over-month increase of the year, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Inpatient hospital prices grew 2.3%, compared to outpatient services, which grew 1.7%. The Consumer Price Index, which measures what Americans spend on a range of commodities, overall rose 0.2% in October.
