There is great truth in the old axiom that “Culture eats strategy for lunch every day of the week.” What is your medical staff and hospital culture? The answer is more important than you think. The true measure of an organization’s culture is how people actually behave within the organization. In some organizations, behaviors are generally consistent with the stated mission, vision and values. In others, day-to-day behaviors run counter to the stated mission, vision, and values. Accordingly, culture drives behavior and behavior drives results.
