Legislation expands telehealth coverage for military, retired veterans

Legislation introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives last week aims to improve access to telehealth services for active-duty military, retired veterans, and their dependents by expanding reimbursement to providers. HR 3507—which initially was co-sponsored by California Democratic Reps. Mike Thompson and Scott Peters, now also is sponsored by Reps. Gregg Harper (R-Miss.) and Peter Welch (D-Vt.), and has earned an endorsement from the American Telemedicine Association.
