Letter urges Congress to consider limited-service provider legislation
August 19, 2004
A bi-partisan group of Congressional members recently distributed a letter to their colleagues that call for legislative action regarding the issue of limited service providers, according to www.AHAnews.com. The letter urged Congress to prepare to address this issue in 2005 when the moratorium imposed by the Medicare Modernization Act of 2003 is set to expire. The American Hospital Associations' (AHA) Internet news site reports that the AHA "maintains that limited-service providers threaten hospitals' ability to continue providing comprehensive health car services to their communities."
