News and briefs: Physician assistants in more offices
September 15, 2011
In the past ten years, the number of physician assistants has doubled in the United States. A survey conducted by the American Academy of Physician Assistants found there are over 80,000 practicing physician assistants in the rapidly growing career field. With 66% of respondents answering that they are satisfied with their career, and the median salary for physician assistants on the rise, this field is expected to continue to grow. This growth could help in expanding healthcare to more Americans, according to AAPA President Robert Wooten, PA-C. For more information, visit HealthLeaders Media.
