Physician reentry: Reeducation programs help integrate medical staff members

Physicians may leave the medical field for any number of reasons, including family issues, health issues, ­career changes, or retirement. But just because they leave doesn't mean they won't return. A survey conducted by the American Academy of Pediatrics in collaboration with the Association of American Medical ­Colleges found that one of the most common reasons physicians return to the workforce is because they miss providing patient care.
