Should your organization develop a fast-track credentialing policy?

The recruiting office has found an exceptional candidate to join the medical staff. The hospital is excited to fill a departmental vacancy and bring in more revenue. Both of these factors can put pressure on the medical staff office (MSO) to complete credentials files faster by developing an expedited process. However, pressure should not be the reason an organization implements fast-track credentialing. It is up to the medical staff to determine whether such a process is right for the organization and to develop a properly implemented policy that everyone supports.
