Survey: Healthcare providers pursuing telemedicine

 

A recent survey of healthcare leaders found that 90% reported that their organizations are developing or implementing telemedicine programs. The 57 respondents to the survey, conducted by Foley & Lardner LLP, included c-suite executives, directors, vice presidents, administrators, and in-house attorneys or corporate counsel.
 
The survey also found that 52% of respondents reported that development of telemedicine services was “very important” to their organization, while 32% said it was “important.” Only 3% said the technology was unimportant.
 
Additionally, 50% ranked improving quality of care as their top rationale for implementing telemedicine. Eighteen percent said reaching new patients was their number one motivation.
