Teen poses as physician for a month

West Palm Beach police recently took a teen into custody after he was found roaming the halls of St. Mary’s Medical Center wearing a stethoscope and a white lab coat with the hospital’s logo and “anesthesiology” stitched on it.

The teen, whose name and age was redacted from the police report, had been seen around the hospital for about a month and had said he was a physician, according to a security guard. A patient alerted the staff at the hospital’s OB/GYN office that they had seen the teen dressed as a physician inside an exam room.

The teen’s mother told police that he is under care for an undisclosed illness but is not taking his medication. The police and hospital agreed not to charge him with a crime.
