Medical staff leaders must resolve all doubts about an applicant or reapplicant's experience, education, training, references, health status, behavior, citizenship, etc.
If the credentialing committee or MEC has any reservation, however small, about any aspect of a physician's background or current clinical competence, it should investigate further and gather information necessary to proceed confidently with the appointment or privileging process.
