Successful leadership depends on many characteristics, including the ability to:
- Inspire confidence
- Show personal interest
- Produce results and quality outcomes
- Inspire, gather, and use employees’ ideas
- Lead, rather than “boss”
- Foster teamwork and a sense of community
- Show kindness without being considered “easy”
- Coach staff to reach their potential
- Be a role model for balancing work and home
- Delegate appropriately
- Demonstrate self confidence without being “cocky”
- Make hard decisions when needed
