WANTED: Qualified medical services professionals

The CFO of a healthcare system recently expressed to me concern over the amount of revenue (an estimated hundreds of thousands of dollars each month) being lost due to a dysfunctional credentialing process. A CMO noted that his longtime MSP is nearing retirement and the other staff have not taken the initiative to become certified or pursue ongoing ­education and training. A director of medical staff services stated that once she trains inexperienced individuals and they gain the requisite knowledge, they move on to better-paying positions at other organizations.
