Working with doctors: Are we having fun yet?

I started working with doctors as a college student. During the summers, the company-owned hospital where my mom worked paid me pretty well to work in the outpatient reception area, preparing medical records for patient appointments and then filing them. This small but creditable hospital only had seven physicians on staff (some were husband-and-wife teams), and they all lived in the same row of houses built specifically for physicians.
