Cultivating a cohesive medical staff services team

Keon Williams, CPCS, CPMSM, credentialing manager for professional staff services at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, has worn many hats throughout her career in healthcare. She began at Parkland Health & Hospital System in Dallas where she eventually became a senior medical staff coordinator. She has specialized in provider enrollment, credentialing (physician, hospital, mid-level, managed care, facility/ancillary services, and telemedicine), regulatory compliance, and delegation auditing, among many other responsibilities. The passion she has for her job is palpable, and she has a lot of wisdom to share. CRCJ recently caught up with the medical staff services professional veteran about her role, her challenges, and what keeps her coming back.
