Dear readers,
This week the Institute of Medicine released its report on improving diagnosis in healthcare. According to the report, about 5% of adults in this country experience a diagnostic error when seeking out outpatient care. The report suggests several strategies to reduce diagnostic errors, such as improving professional education and facilitating more effective teamwork.
