Use of online reviews for physicians on the rise
November 20, 2014
Patients are turning to online review websites such as Yelp, Healthgrades, and RateMDs to research physicians now more than ever.
The results of a survey conducted by Software Advice, a practice management reviewer, reported that the use of online review websites increased 68% over last year. More than 60% of respondents said they used the websites before selecting a physician, followed by 20% who said they use the websites to evaluate their current physician.
Respondents said they used the websites to research a physician’s quality of care, patient experiences, accuracy of diagnosis, and listening and explanation skills.
