Increasing value of healthcare a priority for physician leaders

A vast majority of physician leaders support improving the value of healthcare by increasing quality while lowering costs, according to a survey conducted by the American Association for Physician Leaders (AAPL) and the Navigant Center for Healthcare Research and Policy Analysis. The survey, which was completed by nearly 2,400 members of the AAPL, found that more than 90% of respondents thought reducing unnecessary care was of high or very high importance.
Other survey findings include:
• 93% ranked improving physician satisfaction as a high or very high priority
• 92% ranked increasing transparency about quality as of high or very high importance
• 92% ranked patient adherence to treatment as of high or very high importance
