Tip of the week: Create a bond between physician and hospital

Physicians often wish to bond with and receive support from other physicians, and the medical staff can provide them with the resources to do so. However, don’t dismiss the physician’s relationship to the hospital. Many organizations are creating physician-hospital compacts that define the benefits physicians expect to receive from the hospital and vice versa. Even if your organization does not specifically define these expectations, the medical staff development plan should clearly address how to strengthen the physician-hospital relationship.
