HHS provides millions to fund Ebola preparedness programs

The Department of Health and Human Services announced a $195 million grant to support the Hospital Preparedness Program, which will go to healthcare providers to help handle outbreaks of Ebola in the U.S.
When added to funds already received by the Public Health Emergency Preparedness program, all 50 states, major metropolitan areas, and U.S. territories will be splitting a total of $339.5 million. New York City was awarded the most funds with $21 million. The other top awardees were Texas ($17 million), Pennsylvania ($15 million), and Maryland ($15 million).
