Use of value-based contracts increasing
The number of hospitals reporting that value-based contracts was the source of 10% or more of its revenue nearly doubled, going from 22% in August 2014 to 42% in February 2015, according to surveys conducted by Kaufman, Hall & Associates, LLC.
The surveys also found that responding hospitals anticipate increased use of value-based contracts. Twenty-two percent said they expect value-based contracts will be the source of 50% or more of their revenue within the next 24 months. Only 7% reported this in the survey from August 2014.
