Data of 11 million Premara Blue Cross members compromised

A cyber attack has exposed the medical, personal, and financial records of more than 11 million customers of Premara Blue Cross dating back to 2002. The attack was discovered in January and is believed to have begun in May of 2014.
 
Premara said the exposed customer data could include birthdates, Social Security numbers, member identification numbers, bank account information, and claims information. The company has not yet been able to determine if any information was removed from its systems during the breach.
