Educational television?

Last week’s news included a report that the television show House had helped hospitals in Germany diagnose cobalt intoxication in a patient. I don’t know how many Medical Staff Leadership Insider readers watch medical-drama television in their spare time (what’s that?), but last week’s news made me wonder: If the acerbic genius Dr. House were a practitioner with privileges in a U.S. hospital, how would he fare in the reappointment and/or peer review processes?

If there are practitioners on your medical staff who remind you of House, how do you go about getting the information you need to properly credential or reappoint them? Let me know at mstevens@hcpro.com.

Thanks for reading!
