Ex-CEO files whistleblower lawsuit

The former CEO of Architrave Health has filed a federal lawsuit claiming he was fired for reporting $10 million dollars in fraudulent Medicare payments. Robert Dannenhoffer, MD, claims he was fired last February after insisting that Architrave self-report inflated Medicare payments to CMS.

The payments in question were made to Architrave’s subsidiary Umpqua Medical Group. Dannenhoffer claims the payments violated the False Claims Act and the Stark Act because Umpqua had a compensation structure that paid physicians more for prescribing certain drugs and procedures to Medicare patients.

In his lawsuit, Dannenhoffer also claims that after firing him, Architrave also used its influence to have him removed from a position and not hired at another.
