Health lawyers predict increasing threat of hackers
October 18, 2016
A survey conducted by the American Health Lawyers Association and Bloomberg Law of 290 health law attorneys found that 97% expected their involvement in cybersecurity matters to increase in the next three years. Nearly 90% of those surveyed also thought their healthcare clients have a greater risk of cybersecurity attacks than other industries.
To meet these challenges and growing demand, 75% of survey respondents reported that their health law practices are developing their cybersecurity expertise. However, 40% of the attorneys voiced concerns that their plans to address data breaches lacked specific guidance for the type types of incidents their clients might face.
