Institute director ordered to stop practicing medicine

Brian Clement, director of the Hippocrates Health Institute in Florida, has been ordered to stop practicing medicine without a license and fined for representing himself as a medical doctor. Florida’s Department of Health says it has probable cause to believe the director of the Hippocrates Health Institute, based in West Palm Beach, treated two children battling leukemia “with unproven and possibly dangerous therapies,” according to CBC News. The investigation is continuing, according to the Florida Department of Health. Practicing medicine without a license is a felony in Florida, and if convicted, Clement could face a range of penalties, including jail time.
