June, so soon?

As we break for a long weekend and the unofficial start of summer, I want to tell you about a couple of items on the Credentialing Resource Center roster.

First, we’ll be offering you the chance to weigh in on a benchmarking report on fluoroscopy privileging policies. This benchmarking report will distill information from you—MSPs and credentialing experts—to provide data about how organizations comparable to yours delineate privileges for fluoroscopy. Survey questions ask, “What’s going on at your facility now?” and break down the information in various ways, such as by number of beds, facility type, medical staff size, number of procedures performed annually and by which specialists, and more. Your responses will form the benchmarking report to illustrate broad, up-to-date privileging trends. Healthcare organizations, and in particular MSPs, can use the data to determine where they stand in comparison to similar facilities. The link to this benchmarking survey will be posted soon.

Second, look for “Effective Peer Review: The Complete Guide to Physician Performance Improvement, Third Edition,” by Robert J. Marder, MD, which is slated to be available in early June. (I, for one, can’t believe June starts next week!) You can get more information or order a copy here.
