Majority of physicians don’t like the AHCA

Fifty-eight percent of physicians have a strongly negative impression of the American Health Care Act (AHCA), according to a survey conducted by physician search firm Merritt Hawkins. More than 1,100 physicians were surveyed about the Republican House bill to replace the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and respondents overwhelmingly expressed dissatisfaction with the AHCA. In addition to those who felt strongly negative about the bill, 8% had a somewhat negative impression, while 26% had a positive impression, and 7% were neutral.

In a Merritt Hawkins survey conducted last year of more than 17,000 physicians, 48% gave the ACA a negative grade of D or F, while 23% gave it a positive grade of A or B. Twenty-eight percent gave it an average grade of C.
