More physicians using video-conferencing for non-urgent care

Seven percent of physicians use video-conferencing to communicate with patients, and not just about urgent care issues, according to Healthcare Informatics. Many are starting to use it for follow-up visits and to deliver healthcare services to a geographically dispersed patient population. Physicians in some specialties, such as psychiatry and oncology, are more apt to use video-conferencing; payment and patient privacy issues are often barriers to more physicians using the technology.
