NAMSS presents new tool to expedite credentialing processes

The National Association Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) has announced the creation of a new tool to help MSPs credential and privilege practitioners in their facilities. The NAMSS Practitioner Affiliation Sharing Source (NAMSS PASS) is an online storehouse for practitioners’ affiliation history with hospitals, surgery centers, health plans, group medical practices, and other entities throughout the practitioners’ career. The tool represents the collaboration between NAMSS and the Practitioner Hospital Data Bank.

According to a press release from NAMSS, NAMSS PASS will obtain a practitioner’s affiliation history and perform a gap analysis to determine whether any credentialing “red flags” are present within that practitioner’s history. For an additional fee, the tool will also print available “good standing” letter for the practitioner from contributing hospitals. NAMSS PASS is intended to minimize the amount of time MSPs must spend conducting similar searchers, which in turn minimizes operational inefficiencies.
