Nevada osteopathic physicians under the microscope

A change to Neveda's law now requires the state's board of osteopathic medicine to take a close look at all malpractice filings rather than waiting for an immediate threat to the public or a compliant to the board before launching an investigation. The board will also begin reporting its actions to the Federation of State Medical Boards and conducting criminal background checks on physicians who apply for Nevada licenses, according to a Reno Gazette-Journal article.
