PAs salaries increased in the past year

PAs (physician assistants/physician associates) in Alaska had the highest median income in 2021 at $140,000, while PAs in Alabama had the lowest median income at $95,000. Overall, PAs across the country saw an increase in their 2021 earnings compared to 2020 ($115,000 vs $110,000 respectively).
These results are from the 2022 American Academy of PAs Salary Report. Nearly 12,000 PAs were surveyed for the report.
Other top earning states for PAs include:
- California: $131,000
- Hawaii: $130,000
The report also notes that PAs serving in formal leadership roles had a median compensation of $129,911 and PAs serving in informal leadership roles had a median compensation of $117,000.
