PCORI to name advisory panels on rare disease, clinical trials

The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) Board of Governors has approved charters for two new advisory committees required by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. The PCORI Advisory Panel on Rare Disease and the Advisory Panel on Clinical Trials will begin meeting next spring. PCORI will seek potential members through an open application process to be announced soon at www.pcori.org. The board also approved minor editorial revisions to the organization’s research standards and a fiscal year 2014 budget that includes up to $528 million in research funding commitments.
