Vt. pol introduces bill to expand telemedicine

Vermont’s lone representative in the U.S. House says he wants to make it easier for people to take advantage of telemedicine by electronically linking patients to physicians. Rep. Peter Welch’s Telehealth Enhancement Act of 2013 would also cover home-based video services for hospice care, home dialysis, and homebound beneficiaries and give states the opportunity to expand Medicaid coverage to include telemedicine services for women with high-risk pregnancies.
