The most disruptive forces in healthcare
Hospital and health system leaders say provider burnout, disengagement, and physician shortages are the most disruptive forces that healthcare organizations are facing, according to a report from AMN Healthcare.
The report surveyed 551 healthcare executives, including c-suite executives or trustees, vice presidents, directors, and managers, between November and December 2020. Thirty percent of respondents reported they were experiencing physician shortages and 83% were experiencing nurse shortages. While only 14% of respondents reported executive shortages, 82% said filling those executive positions remains challenging.
The healthcare executives also reported that financial pressures and government regulations were disruptive forces their organizations faced.
