CIO's complaints about EHRs

Much has been written about the difficulties clinicians have had with integrating EHRs. Becker’s Hospital Review recently discussed EHRs with CIOs, who have their own issues with EHRs, and compiled the following list of their complaints:

·         A lack of national standard regarding discrete data

·         No integrated communication

·         Not user-friendly

·         We have big data but not smart data

·         Lack of regulation
