Wash. suspends anesthesiologist's license over alleged sexting
June 13, 2014
The Washington state Department of Health has suspended the license of a Seattle anesthesiologist for allegedly sending sexually explicit “selfies” and text messages during surgeries. He is also accused of looking at private medical records and issuing at least 29 unauthorized prescriptions. Zilberstein, who worked at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, has been in practice since 1995. In a statement earlier this week, Swedish stated it had suspended his medical staff membership and privileges. The medical center is conducting an internal review of the physician, who was not directly employed by Swedish, according to the statement.
