Are there timelines for verifying credentialing information?

Verify and Comply, Sixth Edition, includes both credentialing and medical staff standards and regulations in one easy-to-navigate manual, giving MSPs one book that answers all their accreditation questions. This expanded guide includes ambulatory care, acute care, and managed care standards for the most popular regulators and accreditors: CMS, The Joint Commission, NCQA, DNV, HFAP, and AAAHC. From initial appointment to reappointment to medical staff functions, these standards are side by side in an easy-to-read grid.

This book includes information on what each accreditor/regulator deems appropriate for primary source verification of different credentialing elements and if there is a deadline for completing verification. For example, did you know that NCQA requires that credentials elements be verified by the CVO within 120 days prior to submission to each client, unless otherwise noted in the NCQA requirements regarding the individual credentialing element. NCQA uses the date of the official document (date on application letter, report, etc.) not the date of receipt, to assess compliance with this requirement.
