CRC Symposium Spotlight: Todd Sagin

The Credentialing Resource Center Symposium features experts who have worked with or on medical staffs for years. HCPro is excited to welcome Todd Sagin, MD, JD, back to the podium as a speaker at the 2016 Credentialing Resource Center Symposium.

Sagin offers a unique perspective as a physician and a lawyer. He is a physician executive recognized across the nation for his work with hospital boards, medical staffs, and physician organizations. He is the national medical director of Sagin Healthcare Consulting, LLC, and HG Healthcare Consultants, LLC, which provide guidance on a wide range of healthcare issues. Sagin is a practicing family physician and geriatrician who has held executive positions in academic and community hospitals and in organized medicine.

Sagin frequently lectures and facilitates retreats on medical staff affairs, physician leadership skills, relationships between hospitals and doctors, strategic healthcare planning, governance, and related topics. Sagin has authored numerous publications for HCPro. His most recent publications include Proctoring, FPPE and Practitioner Competency Assessment and Managing Problem Practitioners: A Leadership Guide to Dealing With Impaired, Disruptive, and Burned-Out Clinicians.

Some of the topics Sagin will address at this year’s Symposium include: challenges at the time of appointment and reappointment, FPPE, OPPE, and how to avoid being named in a negligent credentialing lawsuit.
