Nominate a deserving medical staff leader

As discussed in this week's article on preparing to become a medical staff leader, being a great physician and a great leader are two different, sometimes conflicting jobs. Physicians who become medical staff leaders agree to take on responsibilities that are in addition to their patient-care duties. So what drives a physician to step into a leadership role? 

"Initially, I undertook these roles via academic responsibilities which arose because I enjoy teaching others. Later in my career, I pursued leadership because it provided the opportunity to improve the lives of many people at once, rather than just one at a time as a doctor," explains Todd Sagin, MD, JD, a 2017 CRC Symposium speaker.
